¡Semana Santa!

Spring break here is a little later than the usual U.S. spring break, ours starts the second week of April. For Semana Santa you pretty much have to travel, for one because that’s a whole week to explore a new place! And secondly, the program doesn’t pay for anything that week sooo… You’re pretty much expected to go somewhere or pay your host family for the days you stayed. With that being said, I chose Morocco!

CityLife Madrid offers some pretty sweet deals and my friends and I were able to go to Morocco for 8 days for under 400€, not exactly cheap but considering the fact that we saw most of the major sites and cities, got quite a few free meals, and got to camp in the Sahara and ride on a camel, the experience was pretty much priceless. After a week of bonding with our van driver, and getting to see so many cool things, and views that left me awestruck; the Atlas Mountains, the Todra Gorge, the Sahara… I could go on. Coming back to madrid was like waking up from a dream. It was amazing and I would highly recommend that if/when you come to Madrid you try to book that trip. Morocco is only an 8 hour bus ride and 40 minute ferry ride away! 😉

Some cute little camels I saw in Ait-Ben-Haddou (the place that they filmed like 40 different movies about ancient times, and a couple of episodes of Game of Thrones)
