Comments:

Conciencia Afro helped tremendously in facilitating my transition and assimilation to Spanish culture and, more specifically, Afro-Spanish culture.  The internship and the community based around it merged the cultures of migrants and Spanish natives alike, while focusing on the importance of recognizing and validating the existence and resistance of Black people in Spain.  I had a wonderful and rewarding experience working with the organization, and I sincerely believe that my experience in Madrid would be very different had I not completed this internship. Nicole Richards, Skidmore. Spring 2020
I just started this internship but so far it’s been really great! I will be helping around by organizing and cataloguing the library, systemizing of the data of European Afro Jurists, and supporting Ana Bibang in the Cine Forum event. Everyone working there is so sweet and helpful, too!. Giovanna Sabini-Leite, Smith College. Spring 2020

In Espacio Afro, I work alongside afro-descendant people in various projects, including an online magazine, finding funding and support from similar organisations, and managing social media. It is a very independent internship, so it is interesting to see all the options of the things that could be done there. Nicole Richards, Tufts. Fall 2019
